Fabian heads to Texas, signs with Wayland Baptist

YUMA, Ariz. - Arizona Western Matadors' baseball player Samuel Fabian has signed a letter of intent to continue his baseball career at Wayland Baptist University. 

Fabian is coming off a season in which he set career-highs in four offensive categories, batting .319 in 58 games, the second most games played for the Matadors this past spring. The outfielder slugged a career-best 13 home runs, including a two-homer game against Scottsdale Post Grad on March 4. Fabian also hit 20 doubles while driving in 74 runs in his sophomore campaign.

As a freshman in 2021, Fabian batted .275 with seven doubles, a career-best four triples, and eight home runs while batting in 48 runs. 

Wayland Baptist University is an NAIA institution located in Plainview, Texas. The Pioneers play in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
