YUMA, Ariz. - Arizona Western first baseman Jamie Beerman is named Chapman Yuma "Player of the Week." The freshman from the Netherlands helped the Arizona Western baseball team come from behind in last Saturday's 3-2 win over Eastern Arizona. Beerman finished the game 2 for 3 and drove in the Matadors first two runs to help Arizona Western tie the game at 1-1 in the home half of the fifth inning and take a 2-1 lead in the seventh inning. In 16 games played this season, Beerman has a batting average of .356 with 9 RBI. Fans will recognize Jamie with his pink bat, pink batting gloves and pink shin protector. 

"I just like it," Beerman said. "It has a nice look to it, I think it's a cool look and it works for me."

Jamie is majoring in Exercise Science and pursuing a career in professional baseball.
