Brooklyn Cann named Chapman Yuma "Player of the Week"
YUMA, Ariz. - Arizona Western softball player Brooklyn Cann is this week's Chapman Yuma "Player of the Week." The freshman pitcher from Surrey, Canada, dished out two solid performances in the circle for the Lady Matadors this past Friday and Saturday. Cann led Arizona Western in two of the three wins over ACCAC rival Yavapai during the four-game series at Charlie Dine Field. Cann pitched two complete games, allowed only one run and struck out five batters. Cann improved her record to 5-3 on the season in 12 starts and 16 total appearances. Cann lowered her ERA to 3.00 in 58.1 total innings pitched. Arizona Western is 25-12 on the season and tied with Eastern Arizona for second place at 9-7 in the ACCAC standings. Catch Brooklyn back in the circle this week as Arizona Western hosts Eastern Arizona in a crucial four-game series starting this Thursday, April 2nd, at Charlie Dine Field.
